Back to the grindstone

Well I'm back at work and finding the work environment a little daunting. When I have a look at these calls for proposals, Im beginning to wonder....A lot of these people dont realise how much time and effort is in fact really involved in digital work, whether its Graphic art or Social Media Management.

I use an online freelancing portal called People per Hour and you can see my profile here. A lot of Freelancers object to having to compete with Indian freelancers, but actually dont realise that once they start to rise in the rankings, the competition begins to thin out substantially. There is substantial demand for English mother tongue speakers based either in the USA or the UK.

There is nothing like good web copy written by a mother tongue speaker.Evidently even those who employ coders that dont speak English for the backend are nevertheless sensitive enough to realise that good copy affects SEO and also the professional presentation of their site.

If a prospective client doesnt want to pay you a reasonable fee for your skills, move on, because there are those that do appreciate educated skilled digital workers and the long term value that they bring.
